TripValidator: how to check a holiday rental before you pay for it
A foreign IBAN, a payment outside the platform or a too-good-to-be-true price are classic scam signals. TripValidator checks them for you and explains each one before you pay.
Product & communication
Booking a holiday home from a private owner has one delicate moment: when the owner asks for payment and all you have seen are photos and a few messages. TripValidator was built for that moment.
What it analyses
You start from the listing, the conversation with the owner and the details they gave you: phone, IBAN, website, photos, tax ID, address and tourist registration. In about two minutes you get a risk score from 0 to 100, with every signal explained and what to check before paying.
Rules you can audit
The risk does not come from a black box. An engine of 18 detectors is based on the fraud patterns published by the Spanish police forces, the consumer association OCU and the platforms themselves: foreign IBAN, payment outside the platform, bargain price, fake tourist registration or websites imitating Airbnb. Official validators check the format of the IBAN, of Spanish ID and tax numbers, phone numbering and the tourist registration of each Spanish region. A critical signal keeps the risk at very high even if everything else looks fine.
AI adds, never subtracts
In the full report, an AI model reads the text, the conversation and the photos looking for what the rules cannot see. It can add signals and raise the risk, but never lower it. Every piece of data analysed also leaves a footprint: if a phone number or an IBAN has already appeared in risky offers or in verified reports from other travellers, the risk goes up. That history can be checked for free and only shows aggregated counters.
Getting started
The preview is free and reports are private; bank details are never requested. All the details are on the TripValidator page of our portfolio, or you can analyse your booking on TripValidator.
