radartrenes.com: every train in real time, free, and a warning when something goes wrong

Born from the 15 seconds of Adamuz: a free map of real trains with their delays and a safety engine that warns within seconds when a train stops where it should not.

On 18 January 2026, in Adamuz, a train derailed after a rail broke and about 15 seconds later it was hit by another train running on the adjacent track. Nobody could warn the second train that a stopped train was ahead. radartrenes.com grew out of that question: what if every train were visible in real time and an abnormal stop reached whoever is behind within seconds?

A train radar, like the ones for aircraft

Just as there are live maps of every flight, radartrenes.com shows the trains in service on a dark map: position, speed, heading, source and age of each data point. Today it brings together hundreds of real trains at once, from the open real-time data of Renfe Cercanías commuter trains and the Finnish network of Fintraffic / Digitraffic, with OpenRailwayMap tracks, signals and maximum speeds.

Delays you can see on the map

By crossing the timetable with the position, every train shows its delay, its next stop with the scheduled and estimated time and a colour for its punctuality. One glance tells you which line is running well and which one is piling up minutes.

A safety engine on watch

On top of the map runs an engine that detects sudden stops, trains stopped on the line, dangerous convergences, overspeed and signal loss, and warns the trains involved first and then the whole network. It complements official railway signalling: it does not replace it and is not a certified safety system, and it says so on screen.

Free, and better the more of us there are

Using it is free, with no account or sign-up. If you travel by train, the “share my position” mode turns your phone into one more source for the network, whether you are a passenger, crew or the driver. You will find all the details on the radartrenes.com page of our portfolio and you can open the map on radartrenes.com.
